why am I blogging now?

6 Jun , 2012

So, I have been using Twitter lately and realized, oh surprise, that it takes more than 140 characters to describe a lot of things.  Therefore here I am, blogging.

The idea of this blog is to tell you about the work I do with small-scale farmers and farm workers all over the world.  You see, I work in Fair Trade.  I have been working with Fair Trade over 6 years now and I have been involved in agriculture for almost 20 years now (I can’t believe I just wrote that.  I guess it has been a while now).

I am an agronomist, born and raised in Ecuador, that has been living in the US for the last 10 years.  I love working with small-scale farmers and farm workers.  I have lived in Honduras and Brazil too.  I love traveling and I am lucky enough to visit a lot of coffee farming communities all year round.  I plan to write about that now and then so thank you for checking this blog.
